I wrote the words to this song at a little diner in hollywood, Fl just before going to see "ray" the movie that then inspired the chords for this diddy, F minor. The song was really about an older gentleman flirting with Ms. Suzie, who was both sweet and a little too old for me, ;) (thats a wink, i've never done that) I was minding my own, business one day, when along came my way, ms. suzie, the cutie at the counter selling cat fish and fried flounder, she said how about some steamers i mean man she's such a dreamer, god you should've seen her, i'm in love.
I was reading the paper with nothing more to say to her, when on the radio came divine inspiration to talk about the station playing just a little patience, all across the nation, and we we're just a few of a million maybe two,nsinging the same song, glad that the rains gone, and humming along, i'm in love, hmmm hmmm hhmmm.

I asked her when her shifts through? i told her that the moons blue and only if she'd like to i would show her what i'd like to, but oh so discreetly and i promise yeah real neatly, i'm in love. yes i am in love, with ms. suzie.
She told me that she'd meet me, she said it oh so sweetly by ten she would be quite free, so i held her hand real tightly and now we're there near nightly to sight see and sight stare, ms suzie the cutey who's beauty is so rare, ms. suzie the cutie, who'se beauty is so rare. Written on a boat just of the pyramid topped building in miami beach, this was the second day of min lobster season and the sun was shining, i figured i'd take a nap, and while the boat swayed i chased the shade, something i like to do often living in Sunny South florida, i just don't get the chance because i live rockturnal. A wise man once said early to bed, early to rise, makes a real man, healthy welahty and wise, but when it's late and the stars are getting low, and when it's ealr yall the edges begin to glow, thats when i know, i know we got it made, gonna spend our day chasing the shade, jasmine and jade, you know we got it made, gonna spend our day chasing the shade.
